Ana Ryue works as a journalist, presenter and PR manager in Vienna. She took her first steps on the radio and on poetry slam stages back in 2007 and later wrote for the Austrian hip hop magazine The Message. At the same time, she organized and hosted a poetry slam with the Müh Slam at the Cselley Mühle and gave spoken word writing workshops. Since 2018, she has been conducting critical interviews with MCs for the battlerap league Don't Let The Label Label You and also has her own interview format on this channel.
She also worked as a co-host for music magazine AUX on Canal+ and since fall 2021 she has hosted the HEAST! HipHop Open Stage by wienXtra, including educational support for the young people. In 2024, she will host the Jugend Innovativ Award Show of the aws for the third year in a row, as well as the young media event re:think media of the Wiener Zeitung for the second year in a row.
Ana Ryue is also active in the context of political education and journalism for a wide variety of projects, such as the splash! Festival, the FLINTA* Festival The Healer HipHop as well as in panel discussions and as a speaker on the topic of sexism in rap (see references). She has also had her own fashion label soulmade since 2016 and was part of the integrative cultural education project Demokratie, was geht? in 2023 with workshops for young people on identity and fashion.
